Message from the President

Let me start by thanking all the Volunteers for helping to get the season underway. It is a mammoth task made easier by the many hands that contribute. Strathalbyn Strikers FC runs wholly on volunteer labour. without the support of mums, dads and supporters, the club would not be able to function. Please, if you are asked to help out, do so, and if you can contribute in any way, speak to your coach, team manager or a committee member. Sponsors play an integral part of our fundraising. Without the help of our many sponsors, fees would be significantly higher. Please support our sponsors by endorsing their businesses and tell them you are there because of the Strath Strikers! Strath Strikers have retained most numbers from last year. We have lost our U16 team, but have gained another senior team for these players to step into. We again have two U8 teams and our girls teams are continuing to be strong. A development squad is integral to the future of our club, with 5 and 6 year old's the key to the future. This was shown last year by the success of this concept which again will be happening again this year. This club is continuing to establish itself at the Recreation Grounds, with the surface looking superb. our focus is now turning to getting lighting at the venue so we can run our successful 7-a-side competition there as well as being able to train at night. There are several grants available which we are looking into and have applied for. If your have any ideas for grants or improvements, please let me know. Good luck for the season ahead, I will see you on the pitch! Nick Brook
